Come on now... Who among us actually ever thinks of saving money or making your life better by cleaning your gutters? Perhaps we should...I just received an interesting newsletter from a home inspection company that brought to light an interesting point. We should be cleaning our gutters at least once per year to prevent damage to our homes and to eliminate a breading ground for mosquitoes.
Another idea I just thought about is your gutters during winter time. Clean gutters can be the difference between ice dams being or not being created. - If leaves and other materials accumulate in your gutters, water will not flow and ice dams will develop in your gutters. When any water enters the gutter it can easily get above and behind the gutters... and into the eves or walls of your home where extensive damage can occur.
Why not put a note on your calendar to clean your gutters just after the leaves finish dropping from the trees too. Better yet, install leaf guards on your gutters now to eliminate most of the gutter cleaning you really should be doing from now on.
